French Lick, IN is a town in the southern part of Indiana. If you travel there, make sure to check French Lick West Baden Museum or take a ride through Hoosier National Forest on a vintage diesel locomotive operated by the French Lick Scenic Railway. You can also check out Paoli Peaks nearby if you like to ski the slopes.

French Lick's most famous son, Larry Bird, is known as "The Hick from French Lick". He went on to play basketball at Indiana State University where he famously led the Sycamores to the NCAA Final Four Championship in 1979 against superstar Ervin "Magic" Johnson of the Michigan State Spartans. Unfortunately for fans of underdogs everywhere, ISU came up a little short. Nevertheless, Bird would go on to win three NBA Championships in the NBA as a member of the Boston Celtics.
