Tuscaloosa Alabama
On the banks of the Black Warrior River
With its rocky shoals
Those shallow falls
Where the water flows
and the white spider lily grows.
Cotton is high and cane is tall
Backwater to boomtown
coal, iron, and land
A stomping beast and a Million Dollar Band.
You can see blossoms blooming
in the great cherry trees.
You can hear chimes in the tower
Singing on the breeze.
Capital city to Capstone town
A city of champions
Wearing a crown.
A crimson tide that for whom all flows
Our days they are spent
Like a tale that is told.
Remember that family vacation you took in the station wagon and you sat in the third row in the seat that faces out the back? Well, we make the bumper stickers that you would put on that gnarly ride....but maybe after you turned sixteen and you inherited it as your first car.
